My many devoted fans have spent the last month clamoring for an update. Where’s Ben? What happened to him? Has he hung up the pen for good, defeated by the cruel and unforgiving publishing industry? These are the kinds of subject lines that I read every morning, only to delete them in self-disgust, once again disappointing the droves of children who see me as a role model and an inspiration. But never fear — I have been hard at work, both on a collection of poems and a novel. Today I worked on the novel at a cafe. It was nice outside, and I wrote roughly four pages. I’m writing with almost no regard for the eventual chronology of the story — I figure, once I’ve gotten everything out there, I’ll decide what order the chapters should go in. From here on out, I will try to post more updates for my countless (two) dedicated (medium loyalty at best) followers (begrudging readers).
