I guess I’m writing poetry again. I worked on an old poem that I gave up on six months because I was having too much trouble with the meter.

I continued working on the poem from yesterday. It’s called “Strange Woods.” I’m trying to maintain the feeling of the original poem while fitting it into iambic pentameter. Usually I write in free verse, but I want to experiment with more strict forms.

A friend needed help with something tonight and my writing time evaporated. I tried to get in an hour before going to bed, but I was tired and the words weren’t coming. It would have been a waste of time. I’ll pick it up tomorrow.
