All this time, I’ve been writing “Beyond the Walls” with only a loose idea of what is at the heart of the story — what is causing a series of strange events to happen, and what battle my hero will ultimately have to fight at the end of his journey. But the point has come where I can’t continue writing without knowing what my protagonist’s adventure is all about. So I’m beginning to chip away at that problem, and I’m closer to an answer now than I was at the start of the night.
